Ethan McCoy is a man out of time.
He lives in the 21st century, but would fit better in days long past. He's a good guy—not that he knows it. Ethan is a frustrated dreamer and a gentleman who goes unappreciated; the nice guy who seems destined to finish last.
Bettie Jean Blake was a woman ahead of time.
What she always wanted was a man who saw her as an equal. She waited patiently, but by 1944, years after her sister’s murder, Bettie had grown lonely, and began to feel as if she would never meet a man who would really love her, body and soul.
Both of them were at a want for understanding and acceptance. Both were controlled by their insecurities and their fears.
…until destiny brought them together.
Ethan finds himself in 1944, a warmer and more certain time; Bettie finds herself in the relationship she'd always dreamed of. In each other, they'll find the hope they had long thought lost.
Danger, lust and corruption, however, will find them. Their time may be running out.
In Due Time eBook Flynn Cook
The first half of this interesting novel reads a little like a time travel fantasy mixed with a light romantic drama. The dialog is easy and feels authentic, especially in the 1944 section. The characters are likable and relatable, and the story spins out fluidly. It's a nice, easy read. And then it begins to change, as a sharp detective enters the landscape and turns up disturbing details of the murder of Bettie's sister. From there, it's a nuanced and we'll paced murder mystery in the perfect setting: a sunny, sleepy beach town in 1944, hiding a secret waiting to be unraveled. It's an unexpected turn in the story, but feels completely natural. As the story plays out, you get the sense that this could be the birth of a series of books based on this sleuth's adventures. I'd read those!Product details

In Due Time eBook Flynn Cook Reviews
Very poorly written. Full of spelling and grammatical errors. Not even an attempt to address the time paradox. Many, many anachronisms, especially in the characters' speech. The overall tone is that guys, like his hero, are just TOO NICE and women just DON'T APPRECIATE THEM. Very "M'lady." (Trademark Amy Schumer). Gets old fast.
A nice get away and relatable characters. 😁
